Friends of CCL

Many public libraries benefit from a volunteer non-profit group known as the ‘Friends of the Library’. The Friends, as they are called, is an organization whose members volunteer their assistance on behalf of the library.

Friends groups are an invaluable asset for a library. They are motivated to promote the resources and services of the library to the community. They also serve as advocates, working to stimulate public interest and to promote support for the needs of the library.

*All donations to the Friends of Crawford County Library are federally exempted and fully deductible as they are a 501 © 3 organization.

What do the Friends of Crawford County Library do? The Friends of CCL usually work to raise additional funds to augment a library’s budget by organizing annual book sales and fundraisers. Special programs and events planned or funded by the Friends promote the library and community support. Through their volunteering and fundraising efforts, the Friends help the library provide programs, equipment and books to meet the needs of the community.

Friends always strive to raise awareness and expectations of all who enter our library facilities at the following library locations throughout Crawford County:

Devereaux Memorial Library (Main) * Frederic Community Library

Book Sale Donations

The Friends of Crawford County Library hold regular book sales with all proceeds benefitting the library. Throughout the year, CCL and the Friends welcome clean, saleable donations in good condition of:

  • Books
  • Audiobooks on CD
  • DVDs
  • Music CDs

Textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, and VHS or audio cassettes are generally not accepted.

Please drop off all donations at the circulation desk. A tax receipt is available upon request. This form requires the number of items donated for each type of item donated. For everyone's convenience, please count large donations before bringing them to the library.

Crawford County Library does not employ an appraiser for any item and values for tax purposes must be made by the individual donating. Items donated are not guaranteed to become a part of the CCL circulating collection. Any proceeds from items sold at book sales benefit the library. We appreciate your contributions.
